Job Description – Specific Responsibilities Business Transactions – Advise on ERISA Title I and Internal Revenue Code considerations across various lines of business. Negotiate investment management agreements, trading documents, and other contracts involving plan assets. Participate in client onboarding and implementation. QPAM Compliance – Support the firm’s qualified professional asset manager (QPAM) compliance program. In-House Plans – Provide legal support on fiduciary matters related to in-house benefit plans; advise on ERISA rule changes impacting benefit plan fiduciaries. Participation in Industry Groups – Attend ERISA industry group meetings, contribute to comment letters and advocacy efforts. Legislative/Regulatory Reform – Advise on ERISA and IRC law changes affecting the firm’s business lines. News and Updates – Prepare summaries on ERISA updates for internal stakeholders and circulate relevant materials. Training/Education – Develop internal ERISA training materials and assist in training sessions. Basic Qualifications Minimum of four years of legal experience preferred (considering candidates with different profiles). Strong grounding in ERISA fiduciary and prohibited transaction rules and the Internal Revenue Code. Successful candidates should enjoy collaborating with clients, solving complex issues, and prioritizing tasks. Strategic thinking, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills are essential.
