as part of the creation of a new U.S. team. Mission of the Role The
CS Automation Engineer
will be responsible for programming and commissioning retrofits of already installed machines, as well as troubleshooting and resolving technical issues at customer sites. This role requires solid expertise in
motion systems (machines in movement)
and, ideally, experience in the
packaging industry . Key Responsibilities Provide remote and on-site support to field technicians and customers, resolving incidents with installed machines. Participate in the development and execution of new projects and retrofits. Analyze project requirements and propose technical solutions. Support the design of electrical and pneumatic systems. Configure and program servo motors and PLC-based control systems. Program, commission, and validate assigned automation projects. Manage and document incidents, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up. Prepare reports on installations, modifications, training, and open issues. Act as the technical liaison with customers to address programming-related requests. Participate in the departments 24/7 support rotation. Ensure compliance with company quality procedures, safety standards, and continuous improvement practices. Requirements Education : Degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering (specializing in electronics), or equivalent technical qualification (e.g., Higher Vocational Training in Electronics). Experience : Minimum of
3 years
of hands-on experience in automation engineering roles, with strong exposure to
motion control systems
and
turnkey projects . Experience in
packaging machinery
is highly preferred. Technical Skills : Allen Bradley/Rockwell expertise (required). Siemens platform knowledge (a strong plus). PLC programming (RS Logix 5000, TIA Portal, Simotion Scout, B&R Studio). HMI/SCADA tools (FactoryTalk, Intouch, Indusoft, Zenon). Strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills. Languages : English required; Spanish is a plus but not mandatory. Mobility : Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 20%). Training : Initial 12 months training in Granollers, Spain, with additional remote support. Personal Profile Autonomous, structured, and proactive. Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills.
