Audit Letter Analyst
Cooley is seeking an
Audit Letter Analyst
to join the Risk & Compliance team. Position summary:
Under the direction of the Audit Team Letter Manager, the Audit Letter Analyst will work with attorneys to respond to and monitor audit letter requests for the firm's clients. The Analyst will oversee the process, ensuring all requests are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with ABA guidelines and firm policies. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Review incoming audit letter requests for compliance with ABA guidelines and firm policies Review prior responses and engagement letters to identify previous disclosures or concerns Conduct timekeeper polls, track responses, and communicate with attorneys regarding poll outcomes Draft and update audit letter responses for review Review supporting documentation before attorney review Collaborate with audit letter reviewers, responsible partners, and committees to ensure responses meet policies and guidelines Assist with annual training and policy updates for the Audit Letter Committee Ensure accurate entry of billable and non-billable time, reviewing IntApp entries before month-end Perform other duties as assigned Skills and experience: Required: Availability to work overtime as needed Proficiency in Microsoft Office, iManage, and other firm applications after orientation At least 3 years of law firm experience, including in conflicts, legal research, or supporting the Audit Letter process Familiarity with paragraph 5 of the ABA Statement of Policy Regarding Lawyers' Responses to Auditors' Requests for Information Understanding of corporate law practice Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Proficiency in IntApp Open, Contract Express, or similar programs Paralegal certification Experience with legal and corporate research in a law firm environment Competencies: Strong organizational and attention to detail skills Excellent written and oral communication Good judgment with analytical skills Strong customer service orientation Ability to work independently and collaboratively Effective prioritization and multitasking abilities High professionalism Cooley LLP offers competitive compensation and benefits. EOE. The hourly pay range is $35.00 - $47.00 for a 40-hour workweek, equating to approximately $72,800 - $97,760 annually, depending on location and experience.
