Job Description
Connecticut Children's is the state's sole dedicated children's hospital and a pediatric-specific healthcare system. As an academic affiliate of the University Of Connecticut School Of Medicine and the state's first accredited comprehensive care center for adults with congenital heart disease. The hospital boasts a state-of-the-art fetal care center and a pioneering fetal cardiology program. Connecticut Children's is actively seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist with specialization in advanced non-invasive imaging.
The selected candidate will leverage cutting-edge imaging technologies, including a 3.0 Tesla MRI, an upcoming 1.5 Tesla MRI, and specialized CT scanning equipment, to deliver outstanding diagnostic and therapeutic services. This role will involve significant clinical duties, educational engagements, and the possibility of leading research initiatives aimed at advancing pediatric cardiovascular care.
Key Facilities and Technologies:
- MRI and CT Programs: Our institution is equipped with a 3.0 Tesla MRI machine, and another 1.5 Tesla MRI is scheduled for installation, enhancing our imaging capabilities. We perform over 300 cardiac MRIs annually. The services are provided by 3 level 3 trained cardiac MRI trained pediatric cardiologists.
- ECHO Lab: Our ICAEL-certified ECHO lab is equipped with the latest echo machines, supporting high-quality diagnostic evaluations. The ECHO lab has numerous advanced imaging trained cardiologists and a daily dedicated ECHO reading team.
- Training Programs: We offer an affiliated training program for pediatric echo training for cardiac sonographers, emphasizing hands-on learning and technical proficiency.
Responsibilities
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive non-invasive imaging assessments using MRI, CT, and ECHO; interpret complex cardiac imaging studies; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated patient care.
- Lead and contribute to the education of pediatric cardiology fellows, medical students, residents, and cardiac sonographers. Drive advancements in imaging techniques and patient care protocols.
- Engage in general pediatric cardiology clinical.
- Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives; maintain compliance with medical documentation, billing, and coding requirements.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
MD or DO with Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology.
- Licensed and registered in good standing under the laws of the State of Connecticut.
- Formal training in advanced cardiac imaging or an extensive experience and expertise in pediatric cardiac non-invasive imaging, including ECHO, MRI, and CT
- Prior post training experience will be welcome, however is not a requirement
Academic Appointment:
The academic appointment (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor) will be commensurate with experience and contributions to the field.
