Full-Time Position Summary:
THIS IS A REMOTE OPPORTUNITY.
Solid Rock Recruiting has partnered with a top Commercial Paint Contractor in Charlotte, NC searching for an experienced
Commercial Paint Estimator
with a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in the
commercial painting industry , with a strong background in both
new construction and repaint projects . The ideal candidate will have a proven track record estimating
projects over $1 million
in value and must be proficient in using
On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
or similar digital estimating software.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate, timely, and competitive estimates for commercial painting projects.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using
On-Screen Takeoff
or equivalent software.
Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop comprehensive cost proposals.
Identify labor, material, equipment, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing when applicable.
Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and company leadership to ensure successful project transitions.
Maintain and update a historical database of pricing and productivity rates.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
Analyze bid results and post-bid feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience
in estimating commercial painting projects.
Demonstrated experience with
projects over $1 million
in contract value.
Proficiency with
On-Screen Takeoff
software (required).
Strong understanding of commercial painting processes, surface preparation, coatings, and material requirements.
Experience with both
new construction and repaint projects .
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
Industry certifications or training (e.g., PDCA, NACE, SSPC) are a plus.
Experience working in diverse commercial sectors (healthcare, education, industrial, etc.).
