Job Summary
The Central Office Assistant (OA) is a part-time staff member of the Department of Residence Life. They will play a vital role within the Residence Life office, supporting central staff and completing various assigned tasks. The OA's responsibilities include responding to the needs of staff, students, parents, other departments, and guests of the University who contact the Residence Life Department. The role requires managing administrative tasks and addressing inquiries promptly. Given the dynamic environment of Residence Life, the position demands flexibility, adaptability, enthusiasm, and commitment to respond effectively to changing needs and situations. Duties & Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service to visitors and university constituents, serving as a resource person. Assist with answering phones and welcoming visitors. Maintain and operate office equipment such as printers and shredders. Create and distribute communication materials for the department. Organize and inventory supplies, and prepare lists for needed items. Use technology and software to produce brochures, flyers, spreadsheets, and databases. Work independently and collaboratively with student staff, senior staff, central staff, and other departments. Learn and assist with procedures related to room assignments, check-ins and outs, guest policies, meal plans, and other departmental processes. Federal Work Study Requirement
Not required; Federal Work Study eligibility is preferred. Required Qualifications
