Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/08/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible Employment Type: Travel Labor & Delivery RN\n Rural OB Unit | 6 LDRP Beds | 12-Hour Shifts | No Call Required\n Facility & Unit Overview\n\nDepartment: Labor & Delivery (LDRP Model)\n\nFacility Type: Critical Access Hospital (CAH)\n\nAnnual Births: ~220/year (~17/month)\n\nBeds:\n\n6 LDRP beds\n\n0 Triage beds\n\n0 Postpartum beds (postpartum care happens in LDRP)\n\nC-Sections: Performed in Main OR (no in-unit OR); RN does NOT need to circulate or recover\n\nNursery: "Well Baby" with capabilities for:\n\nIV antibiotics, IV dextrose\n\nFeeders/growers, bili babies\n\n Staffing & Support\n\nStaff per shift: Only 2 RNs\n\nCharge Nurse: No dedicated charge; House Supervisor available 24/7 (NRP trained)\n\nTechs/Aides: None\n\nOB Providers & Anesthesia:\n\nIn-house M-F (day)\n\nOn-call after hours/weekends/holidays\n\nMonitoring:\n\nSpacelab monitors\n\nRNs not responsible for reading strips\n\nEFM System: OBIX\n\n Required Skills & Experience\n\nMinimum: 1 year recent OB experience\n\nMust be confident in:\n\nLabor & delivery\n\nPostpartum care\n\nMom/baby couplets\n\nWell baby nursery\n\nCaring for post-surgical patients (post-appendectomy, post-cholecystectomy, etc.)\n\nPreferred: Med-Surg background (for occasional floating)\n\nDrips:\n\nMust titrate Oxytocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin\n\n Certifications\n\nRequired:\n\nBLS\n\nACLS\n\nNRP\n\nAWHONN EFM (Intermediate preferred)\n\nPreferred: STABLE\n\n Schedule & Requirements\n\nShifts: 12-Hour - 07:00-19:30 or 19:00-07:30\n\nSchedule: Manager- scheduled\n\nRequests/block scheduling may be accommodated\n\nSchedule posted 2 months out (in 4-week blocks)\n\nWeekend: Every 3rd weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun)\n\nHolidays: Every 3rd holiday\n\nCall/Standby: None\n\nFloating:\n\nTo Med-Surg as helping hands if OB is closed\n\nMay care for post-surgicals on OB unit About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
