Mailroom Services Clerk
Longeviti is searching for a Mailroom Services Clerk who has previous experience in shipping and receiving for a mailroom, warehouse, or administrative office to support the National Park Service at the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, CO. This position is responsible for daily shipping and receiving operations, mail distribution, property management support, and fleet vehicle operation at Building 50 of the Denver Federal Center (DFC). The role involves physical labor, regular use of government systems and vehicles, and ongoing coordination with building occupants and property officers to ensure efficient logistical support. Duties And Responsibilities: Coordinate shipment of parcels using carriers such as FedEx, UPS, and USPS. Prepare, label, and track outgoing shipments; manage postage meter balances and shipping costs. Receive, sort, and deliver incoming packages; break down pallets, move items within the building, and notify recipients. Identify accountable property and ensure appropriate documentation and signatures are collected. Pick up and drop off USPS mail daily at a local post office. Sort, post, and deliver incoming and outgoing mail to appropriate recipients and offices, including time-sensitive and confidential items. Maintain and monitor postage reserves and report when refills are needed. Log and maintain records of received property; track chain of custody for sensitive or accountable items. Affix property tags, verify receipts against documentation, and manage disposal or excess of government property. Prepare e-waste and other materials for shipment and disposal according to government procedures. Keep the loading dock, mailroom, and storage areas clean and organized. Dispose of recycling, trash, broken pallets, and excess materials as required. Sort disposal items by category and ensure proper documentation is provided for accountable property. Safely operate and maintain government fleet vehicles for mail and package transport. Keep vehicles clean, fueled, and properly maintained; report any operational issues promptly. Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies: Previous work in a mailroom, warehouse, or administrative office Experience with shipping/receiving, sorting, or using postal scales and meters Basic computer literacy Familiarity with mailroom equipment Certifications Or Training Required: Valid driver's license and ability to operate government vehicles. USPS Mail Handling Training preferred Ability to lift/move packages (often 25-50 lbs) Proficiency in email, instant messaging, spreadsheets, and shipping/tracking software. Ability to work independently, follow government protocols, and maintain a consistent onsite presence during business hours. Security Clearance: Medium Background Investigation (MBI) and fingerprint checks. Education: High school diploma or GED Salary: Hourly Rate: $24.00 - $38.00 Please note: The annualized pay range referenced is a general guideline.
