Serve as the
clinical expert
in neonatal care, providing consultation, mentoring, and support to NICU nurses and multidisciplinary teams Develop, implement, and evaluate
staff education programs
for new hires, experienced nurses, and advanced practitioners Lead
evidence-based practice initiatives
to improve patient safety, quality of care, and staff competency Partner with leadership in policy development, workflow improvement, and compliance with regulatory standards Facilitate
simulation training and skills labs
to enhance staff readiness for complex neonatal scenarios Act as a resource for complex patient cases, supporting bedside care when needed Participate in
research, quality improvement, and clinical practice committees Candidate requirements
Current Washington RN License
and
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Certification
as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing
(with CNS focus) Minimum 3-5 years of recent NICU experience
in a Level III or IV setting Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
required Proven track record in
staff education, clinical training, and policy development
