Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager, performs maintenance of the plant buildings and grounds, and maintenance and repair of plant equipment and machinery. Coordinates the work of outside vendors after contracts are in place.
n1. Associates degree or higher in the fields of electronic technician, PC technician or Industrial technology with an emphasis on relay, PLC, computer controls, hydraulics or mechanical systems. OJT 5+ years in controls may be considered if all additional requirements are met. (A trainee must start with an applicable degree or 4+ years controls experience).
n2. Ability to make and interpret circuit drawings and blueprints.
n3. Ability to plan and execute a project including making materials lists, building and wiring control panels, programming and debugging the operation
n4. Ability to write, interpret and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic programs and associated circuits
n5. Ability to interpret and troubleshoot PC based controls including operating systems, network interfaces, data storage and I/O.
n6. Ability to perform advanced diagnostics on CNC equipment including servo motors, servo valves, controller I/O and encoders
n7. Ability to produce high quality electronic solder joints, wiring harnesses and electrical connectors
nRequirements:n
1. Install, rebuild and maintain equipment controls including PC’s, PLC’s, and custom controllers.
n2. Program and troubleshoot electronic control circuits for specialty equipment used to produce production components and assemblies. Typical controls could include servos, encoders, relays, light curtains, switches, proximity sensors, send & receive sensors, optical readers, power supplies discrete or variable I/O, interfacing multiple control systems and more.
n3. Experience in working with air, electric, hydraulic circuits, programmable controls (PLC), electrical control circuits, and ability to make and interpret circuit drawings
n4. Troubleshooting and repair of PC and network equipment.
n5. Interpret and write PLC ladder logic programs and the associated circuits
n6. Complete projects involving mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry; including bills of materials for each project.
n7. Perform all normal maintenance and repair of all plant equipment and facilities
n8. Ability to use all hand tools required as well as most tool room machinery
n9. Pass forklift operation training course; pass eye examination for forklift operation
n10. Track equipment repair cost
n11. Welding and brazing for equipment building and repair.
