Job Description PURPOSE Create and develop relationships supportive of the Baker Group mission statement with employees, internal and external customers. Additionally, provide opportunities to increase business unit revenues by marketing and cross-selling products and services provided by Baker Group. This includes, but is not limited to, temperature controls and security systems. Manage projects in a manner that complements all facets of the project from design to owner training. Maintain and grow the “Customer for Life” concept for existing and new customers. Provide sales support as needed to secure potential sales, review estimates as required, initiate sales/operations turnovers, and document scope. Review control submittals and re-estimates, assist in scheduling and revenue forecasting. Price all change orders ensuring customer labor rates and markups are met. Review and set goals for operations team members. Responsible for execution coordination, project documentation, project financials, and customer satisfaction. Perform related work as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be constructed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Understand building automation systems. Offer and implement solutions to customers through engineering and field personnel. Continuously develop relationships with existing customers and pursue opportunities that provide long-term customer relationships and revenue, including cross-selling and cold calling. Educate customers on Baker Group capabilities, including building automation and cross-selling opportunities within other business units. Develop solutions utilizing internal estimating software and standard product selections. Review solutions with Baker Group team members before submitting to ensure deliverability. Act as account manager or single point of contact with the customer during project execution. Assist with scheduling field labor by attending scheduling meetings with the Operations Manager. Participate in internal and external project meetings; provide oral and written communication on requests, proposals, coordination, submittals, etc. Initiate turnover meetings to engineering and field teams discussing project scope, safety, timelines, etc. Procure subcontracts for installation using documented formats and obtaining multiple bids. Use standard company documents for business development, pre-proposal checklists, turnovers, subcontracts, purchase orders, warranties, etc. Manage projects to ensure their financial success. Ensure accurate daily reporting of time and equipment usage. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Experience in automation and HVAC systems. Experience in estimating and managing automation projects, and in developing customer relationships. Willingness to travel and/or relocate. Successfully pass drug test and background check. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. MENTAL AND PHYSICAL COMPETENCIES Entrepreneurial spirit. Positive attitude. Team player, collaborative. Ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships. Effective communication skills with customers, construction teams, and internal staff.
