Summary: Team members new to the landscape industry enter the Gachina Certification Program to learn production, safe equipment operation and The Gachina Way. During the Certification Program, your Supervisor will be your trainer and mentor. Upon successful completion of training and certification, team members will become a Landscape Maintenance or Construction Technician and will be assigned to a Crew Leader.
Reports To: Production Trainer
Training Program Responsibilities Experienced landscape professionals will demonstrate safe power equipment and hand tool operations, landscape practices that promote plant health, irrigation repairs & controller programming, shrub pruning, and planting, power mowing, trimming, blowing, raking, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, sod laying, sprinkler installation, irrigation repairs such as main lines, lateral repairs, sprinkler repairs, clock programming, and running manual irrigation valves.
Safe hand tool operations such as: picks and shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hand pruners or bush trimmers, and axes.
Safe power equipment operations such as: mowers, blowers, weed eaters, edgers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, sod cutters, or pruning saws, tractors, twin-axle vehicles.
Water lawns, trees, or plants, using sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
Trim trees or other vegetation (Trees under 15 feet).
Drive a company truck with attached trailer to work sites.
Position Requirements
Full range of mobility in upper and lower body
Able to reach overhead
Able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
Able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout the work day
Able to work in various positions including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting
Reliable transportation to job site/office
Report to work at the designated time and location
Wear protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes (steel-toe boots), glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats
Work Conditions
Outdoors, exposed to weather, sounds, and noise levels
