Designers collaborate with customers to plan and design their spaces. Through elevated designs and delivering the CB2 Experience (Be Positive. Inspiring. Finding a way), Designers will maximize sales growth and profitability. Their expertise, teamwork, passion for design, use of design tools, and creative selling skills will ensure an exceptional customer experience.
A day in the life as a Designer...
Drive sales and create a differentiated experience by engaging customers with enriching interactions and offering elevated design solutions both in-store and virtually.
Create elevated CB2 designs for customers using preferred design tools to develop moodboards, 2D floor plans, product lists, and style inspiration.
Lead one-on-one design consultations in person, via email, phone, or virtual meetings. Complete projects within set timelines.
Understand the CB2 brand aesthetics and merchandising strategies across channels — Store, Online, Catalog.
Achieve individual sales, KPI, and service goals, and engage customers effectively on the sales floor by demonstrating our four steps of selling, as directed by the store manager.
Stay informed about marketplace and industry trends.
Listen actively to customers to identify their needs and communicate company loyalty programs (e.g., designer rewards, Design Trade Program, CB2 credit card, gift registry).
Support and model excellent service by maintaining a positive attitude and enthusiasm both in-store and virtually, ensuring quick, gracious, and efficient service for all customers.
What you’ll bring to the table...
Understanding of basic design principles including spatial planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively translate the CB2 brand vision and customer needs.
Strong proficiency with technology (2D and 3D design tools, Google Suite, video conferencing) and floor planning.
Ability to stay current with design trends.
We'd love to hear from you if you have...
At least 1 year of relevant experience in furniture sales, home decor design, or retail/customer service.
For full-time roles: open availability to work flexible hours including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
For part-time roles: availability to work at least two weekend days (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday) and at least one weekday or evening.
Minimum Starting Rate:
$16.00/hour.
Up to:
$36.00/hour. Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable law. In addition to salary, associates may be eligible for bonuses, sales incentives, and long-term incentives depending on their role.
