The CNC programmer works within the Engineering Department to create and evaluate existing CNC programs for vertical and horizontal lathes, and multi-axis milling machines.

Responsibilities

Ability to create and evaluate and improve existing CNC programs for vertical and horizontal lathes, and multi-axis (4-5 axis) milling machines.

Solid understanding of feeds and speeds for aerospace materials.

Be a team player for all lean activities continuous improvement projects.

Tool selection and process layout on a consistent basis, working with customers to ensure work can be accomplished.

Create shop floor documentation including operation sheets and work instructions

Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing techniques

Qualifications

Must be accustomed to deadlines and accountability

Experience with complex aerospace parts including milling and turning processes

Unigraphics NX experience

Lean manufacturing techniques

Effective time management skills including multi-tasking

Ability to read blueprints. Speak and write reports in English.

High attention to detail.

Develop and follow procedures.
