Overview The International School of San Francisco is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Database Administrator and Support Specialist to join our community. The Database Administrator holds primary responsibility for the core functionality of our Student Information System, Blackbaud, ensuring data security and integrity, configuring the system for use by all constituencies, and leading the integration of the SIS with other systems. The Database Administrator optimizes functionality and troubleshoots issues with the SIS, and when needed provides end-user support in a professional and timely manner. This position is also responsible for a range of additional account and database functions across the school including Google Workspace accounts and student and faculty/staff software tools. Reporting to the Director of Education and Information Technology, the Database Administrator and Support Specialist takes a proactive role in identifying innovative technological approaches to address user needs and creates a supportive, service-oriented environment. This position is an integral member of the tech team, collaborating actively with colleagues to ensure user-friendly, efficient, cost-effective software and hardware solutions across the school.

Responsibilities

Manage and support users in the configuration of Blackbaud Student Information (SIS) and Financial products including integration with other systems

Manage and troubleshoot Google Workspace settings, accounts, and devices

Maintain documentation of procedures and practices for the Blackbaud SIS, Google Workspace, and other core tools

Support users with networked copier/printer connectivity setups and issues

Provide support for MacOS and Windows client software and related programs and install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, and related peripherals

Support and configure Apple devices with the JAMF Mobile Device Management System

Respond to help desk requests in a timely and professional manner

Troubleshoot and document IT issues

Maintain hardware / software inventory and software licensing compliance

Provide backup AV support in conjunction with other department staff (Projectors, Apple TV, DVD players, Zoom TV Neat Bar and peripherals). Provide backup AV support at school functions as needed

Stay current on developments in software tools for schools and workplaces and suggest innovative, cost-effective solutions to user needs

Other projects/tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Blackbaud SIS configuration and management experience

Working knowledge and experience with device management, hardware, and software setup, repair, and troubleshooting in an Apple (MacOS & iOS) environment

Basic understanding of Windows OS and familiarity with Google Drive/Docs

Excellent written and oral communication skills, customer service, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills

Self-motivated

Comfort with multi-tasking; able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment

Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; keen attention to detail

Ability to interact with individuals with a range of technological expertise in a calm, courteous, and professional manner

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse, fast-paced, multilingual educational environment

Growth-oriented, curious, innovative, and practical

Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and crawling under desks.

This is a full-time, in-person, year-round position reporting to the Director of Education and Information Technology. Salary Range for this position is equivalent to $90,000-$120,000 depending on experience and education
