Position Objective: The Associate, Project Engineer participates in and leads utility-scale photovoltaic power plant designs. The role requires engineering knowledge, AutoCAD drafting skills, and experience with land development. The position works closely with our Engineering and Development teams on various solar projects. Responsibilities: Implement drawing plot templates and generate shape files to maintain standards for solar PV systems (2-3 system designs). Execute PV layouts in AutoCAD for development phase solar projects. Use GIS AutoCAD plugin & AutoCAD Civil 3D surface files to identify buildable terrain. Develop development phase SLD diagrams. Collaborate with engineers to ensure consistent preliminary PV system layouts. Modify plans as site constraints evolve during project development. Review early-stage designs with civil engineers. Prepare PVsyst energy production reports based on design assumptions. Participate in interconnection study reviews and incorporate utility feedback. Develop specialized knowledge to complement team capabilities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field. 0-2 years of experience in engineering or construction, including internships. Fundamental knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Fundamental knowledge of PVsyst. Ability to interpret USGS, FEMA, and topographic maps. Interest in learning about emerging technologies. Proactive attitude with a strong work ethic. Attention to detail, integrity, and organizational skills. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, with a valid driver's license.
