Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join its growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending employers, insurance carriers, and self-insured employers in workers' compensation claims. This role involves managing a caseload, overseeing all aspects of the litigation process, and providing high-quality legal representation to clients in a supportive and dynamic work environment.
Duties:
Manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense matters from inception to resolution.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and mediations.
Communicate effectively with clients, adjusters, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
Develop case strategies and provide timely updates to clients.
Attend court appearances and advocate for clients in administrative hearings and trials.
Stay current with workers' compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active bar license in California with good standing.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and client service abilities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active bar license in California.
Skills:
Proficiency in legal research, writing, and case analysis.
Strong communication and client service skills.
Ability to develop case strategies and provide updates to clients.
Ability to handle administrative hearings and trials effectively.
