Overview This position will be primarily responsible for assessing and adjudicating the loan portfolio managed by Relationship Managers in CNB's workout group known as Special Situations or SSG. Such portfolio consists primarily of criticized and classified C&I, Investor Commercial Real Estate, and Consumer loans managed in SSG. This individual will also assess SSG's quarterly portfolio assessments as well as credit requests and make recommendations to Head of SSG and/or Deputy. Furthermore, this individual will review and assess credit requests for Substandard loans managed by the Line of Business (LOB) and make recommendations regarding continued LOB retention or transfer to SSG.
Responsibilities
Work with SSG Relationship Managers in assessing and developing strategy for maximizing CNB’s recovery with the goal of rehabilitating certain customers to pass credit status and returning the relationship to LOB Relationship Managers or ensuring collection of our loans and other obligations to CNB.
Evaluate and examine SSG quarterly portfolio reviews and credit requests to ensure timeliness and accuracy of Borrower Risk Ratings and regulatory ratings; accrual status including reserve analysis; loan structure; collateral analysis; and action plans. Approve or decline credit requests within assigned authority or make recommendations to the Head or Deputy Head of SSG
Review and assess LOB-managed Substandard loans, including quarterly assessments as well as credit actions. Make recommendations regarding continued LOB-retention or transfer to SSG.
Develop, train and oversee SSG Portfolio Managers (Credit Officers) who will be primarily responsible for credit write-ups and quarterly assessments.
As senior leader in SSG, provide overall guidance and support across the entire group. Partner with SSG Manager in preparing presentations for regulators, Chief Credit Officer, and/or executive management; addressing Issues; and leading SSG projects. Provide mentorship and training to junior colleagues.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of banking experience - primarily in 1LOD Credit Products and/or 2LOD in credit adjudication or restructuring.
Additional Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills with excellent credit, problem solving, and decision quality skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
Thorough knowledge of Bank business practices and ethics.
Good negotiation, presentation, and critical thinking skills.
Proficient in reporting and data analysis.
Thorough knowledge of Bank credit products, policies, procedures and philosophy.
General knowledge of overall Bank products.
Market cycle and problem credit management experience preferred
What’s in it for you? Compensation Starting base salary: $127,626 - $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
