Associate Attorney-Litigation

Synectics Inc. . A growing law firm in downtown San Diego is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its legal team. The firm specializes in Personal Injury, Civil Rights, and Criminal Defense, with this role initially focused on civil litigation and the opportunity to expand into criminal matters over time. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate eager to gain substantive litigation experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment. The Associate Attorney will work closely with two Partners and two Paralegals, serving as a key communicator and case strategist.
Responsibilities
Draft legal documents including pleadings and motions with accuracy and legal precision.
Propound and respond to civil discovery requests.
Take and defend depositions.
Negotiate settlements in the best interest of clients.
Assist in representing clients in federal and state court proceedings, including mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Collaborate directly with Partners to develop and implement case strategies.
Communicate clearly with Paralegals to coordinate tasks and maintain smooth case flow.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Strong legal writing and research skills.
Excellent negotiation abilities with a client-first mindset.
Superior time management and organizational skills.
Confident communicator, able to serve as a liaison between attorneys and support staff.
Experience with Filevine and Trial Director is a plus.
Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines without compromising quality.
Schedule Full-time, Monday to Friday (8-hour shifts).
Hybrid remote/in-office (must be based in or able to relocate to San Diego, CA 92101).
