NCBI is a large, diverse group of smart and talented people with various backgrounds, but deeply technical, who collaborate in building useful tools and services for the public. NCBI is home to projects such as PubMed. It is part of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, located in Bethesda, Maryland. Duties and Responsibilities Help build the core components of a number of web projects, back-end processing and infrastructure Be running core services Have an opportunity to research, evaluate and deploy new technologies Have an opportunity to write a lot of advanced-level, high-quality, production-grade code and share some of it publicly
Position Requirements
Python Django, Rails or other web MVC framework ORM, SQL, RDBMS REST
Desired Skills
Celery MongoDB, Redis Solr, Elasticsearch or equivalent
