which was founded in 1982 is a leading provider of highly rugged video cameras, modules and systems focused on serving the needs of the Aerospace and Defense Markets worldwide with facilities in Irvine, CA, the Silicon Valley and Hamburg, Germany. We are looking for an experienced software developer to join our product development team. Job Responsibilities A combination, not necessarily all-inclusive, of the following: Perform development, enhancement, and debugging of new and existing software applications, kernels, and device drivers in C/C++ and Rust (optional) within a Linux environment. Enhance camera and sensor capabilities, image quality, and exposure configuration; ensure training data collection operations are supported. Ensure OS (Yocto) support is implemented properly for sensors. Design robust embedded software and systems to support product development from feasibility through to production. Conduct embedded design reviews and code reviews, providing guidance to resolve difficult driver bugs, which may require extensive troubleshooting. Implement design best practices and methodologies for embedded systems, ensuring high performance and reliability, with a strong emphasis on real-time programming considerations. Required Experience and Skills Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. 3-5 years of experience developing embedded software. Familiarity with cameras/other sensors, and camera interfaces (e.g., MIPI CSI-2). Strong attention to detail with a focus on both development and testing. Knowledge of real-time systems and performance optimization techniques. Preferred Experience and Skills Expertise in Linux kernel device driver development and tuning real-time applications for low latency. Experience in development on ARM platforms (NVIDIA Jetson) and Linux (Yocto, meta-tegra) embedded systems. Experience with NVIDIA driver development. Middleware experience, particularly with pub/sub-architectures. Camera and camera interface testing to include testing performance with regard to physical conditions such as shock/vibration, EMI and temperature. Seniority level
