Overview TRIC Robotics is revolutionizing crop protection and sustainable farming. By combining ultraviolet (UV) light, robotics, and deep hands-on farm experience, we’ve developed a patented technology that delivers the most effective chemical-free approach to controlling pests and diseases in fruit production.

Starting in California strawberries, we have quickly gained momentum with commitments from farmers, industry leaders, and investors. Now, we are growing our team.

We’re looking for passionate, driven individuals who want to join an innovative, fast-moving company transforming the way our food is grown. If you’re excited to shape the future of sustainable agriculture through real-world impact and cutting-edge technology, we’d love to hear from you.

Director of Business Development We are looking for a Director of Business Development with a proven ability to bring technically advanced products to market. Ideal candidates will also have experience or working knowledge of agriculture markets, be a strong communicator, trusted by growers, and experienced in building both strategy and execution—from field trials to scaling customer adoption. They will lead TRIC’s commercial efforts across sales, marketing, and partnerships, working directly with farm owners, field managers, and market influencers to drive awareness, adoption, and trust. Success in this role requires someone equally comfortable walking fields with growers, shaping strategy with the team, and ensuring our technology delivers practical value where it matters most. As a key member of the leadership team, they will shape how TRIC goes to market, builds brand visibility, and delivers meaningful value to customers and partners alike.

Responsibilities

Lead TRIC’s business development strategy, combining direct farmer engagement with broader strategic efforts across marketing, partnerships, and commercialization.

Build and manage a high-quality sales funnel, tracking opportunities, identifying key buying influences, and driving deals to close.

Define and execute go-to-market strategies for TRIC’s core and future products—including pricing, positioning, onboarding, and farmer success.

Engage with growers, field managers, and other influencers to build relationships, learn from the field, and communicate the ROI of TRIC’s technology.

Represent TRIC in strategic discussions with partners, industry groups, and investors to grow awareness and build trust in our solution.

Own the development of marketing and sales content—case studies, press releases, presentations, one-pagers, and digital campaigns.

Work with our technical and operations teams to design field trials and pilot programs, capturing the data needed to convince new customers and validate impact.

Manage and grow a sales team as the company scales, including recruiting, coaching, and performance tracking.

Lead TRIC’s investment in B2B marketing—web, social, media outreach, and partner co-marketing—to establish a strong brand across California and beyond.

Collaborate with the leadership team to refine TRIC’s business plan, forecast revenue, and build long-term customer success models.

Serve as a key internal leader who contributes to company culture and leads by example.

Experience & Qualifications

10+ years of business development experience with technically-oriented B2B products; agtech or robotics experience preferred.

Proven success launching new products into specialty crop markets and driving adoption.

Deep understanding of value-based selling, with a track record of communicating ROI to cost-sensitive buyers.

Experience managing complex sales processes with multiple stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to build and lead a sales team, including hiring, training, and performance management.

Strong digital marketing acumen—capable of shaping TRIC’s brand and online presence to reach target communities.

Familiarity with pest and disease control, field trial design, and how to translate technical results into customer insights.

Passion for sustainable farming and emerging technologies, paired with a pragmatic, field-first mindset.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; naturally curious and able to listen deeply and act on farmer feedback.

A history of hiring talent and building strong teams.

Location & Travel

This role can be based remotely, but requires regular in-person presence on the Central Coast (~3 days per week minimum).

Travel across California (and eventually other regions) to meet with growers, partners, and industry stakeholders is expected.

Total Compensation

Salary Range from $150,000-$200,000 depending on experience.

Bonus and Equity structure

Benefits including medical, vision, dental and 401k

If you’re excited to help farmers reduce chemicals and embrace automation—while building one of the most impactful agtech companies in the world—we want to meet you.
