About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Programs to lead the implementation of its agroforestry model, with a focus on ensuring the development of sustainable farms that benefit partner farmers and their communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for team leadership, strategy development, and the advancement of the company's approach to enhance the income, food security, and biodiversity of the regions in which it operates. This role requires a seasoned leader with a background in market-led agriculture, climate, or environmental sectors, and a proven track record in delivering measurable benefits to smallholder farmers. The VP will also be involved in the expansion of the company's reach, representing the organization with key stakeholders, and engaging in fundraising activities.

Applicants for the Vice President of Programs position at the company should have at least 15 years' of experience in agriculture, rural development, or value chain programming in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a strong emphasis on market-led approaches. The role demands an operational mastermind with the ability to manage large, complex programs and diverse teams, as well as a transformative team motivator who can inspire high performance. The ideal candidate will be financially astute, an exceptional communicator, and adept at making analytical and decisive decisions. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for an MBA, Master's in a related field, and at least 5 years' of experience in overseeing leaders in multiple countries. Fluency in French is a significant plus, and the role involves regular travel within Africa and globally.
