To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You’ll Be Doing As a member of the US Commercial Banking Risk Governance team, you’ll support the risk management activities for the Client Banking Specialist and Treasury Management teams. This will include supporting the business in the identification of controls, participating in risk assessments, leading remediation of deficiencies, writing procedures, monitoring business processes, and reporting on business risk outcomes. This role will liaise with the second and third lines of defense on new/changes to risk programs, gathering evidence and support during exams, and providing subject matter expertise over the processes executed by the Client Banking Specialists and Treasury Management teams. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement, spending 2-3 days per week on-site, with other days remote. How You’ll Succeed Relationship Management -

Build and manage relationships with business partners and the 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense regarding risk management. Represent Risk Governance on LOB initiatives.

Risk Assessment/Risk Consulting -

Identify risk exposures and control gaps proactively. Analyze risks, operational losses, root causes, and control gaps. Lead assessments and recommendations to mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with the CIBC CIRA process. Act as a risk SME, providing expert advice, and participate in complex projects to identify risk and control issues. Lead internal audits, exams, and reviews for the LOB.

Risk Subject Matter Expertise -

Understand and communicate requirements related to fraud, AML, compliance, data, and transaction risks. Translate risk requirements into processes and controls. Identify efficiency opportunities.

Control Framework Design/Execution/Management -

Ensure awareness and understanding of control framework requirements. Lead completion of RCSAs, KRIs, and act as Maintenance Officer for OPCs, FPCs, and RCM controls. Develop and present executive reports on governance and controls.

Who You Are You demonstrate experience in

Understanding account opening processes, key product delivery, and back-office settlement/fulfillment. Extensive knowledge of risk management, audit, and regulatory compliance principles and procedures. You demonstrate experience in

Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, or Wealth Management products and channels. You have a degree

in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience. At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. The expected salary range for this role is $112,500 - $130,000, based on experience, qualifications, and location. The successful candidate may participate in incentive plans, including discretionary bonuses.
