DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will be responsible to work directly with customers to discover the customer needs, review project requirements, standards, and guidelines. You will then utilize your experience and knowledge to construct a system proposal that meets the needs of our customers. An excellent Applications Engineer will possess an extensive understanding of automation hardware, controls, standards, design concepts, and a wide range of technology. The Applications Engineer should be able to utilize their excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain the difference between our solutions and competitive solutions. As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will have the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a self-managed team environment making frequent decisions around work prioritization and time allocation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Utilize experience with advanced automation to execute quotes. • Maintain responsibility for ensuring that all elements of the quotation process are completed accurately and on time, including all technical and commercial elements, sales approval processes, and customer documentation requests. • Develop the best hardware and controls solutions to meet the needs of our prospective customers. • Cycle time estimations for concept applications that follow the proposed sequence of operations. • Build estimated project timelines • Work directly with our partners and vendors to ensure competitive designs and pricing. • Work on complex and challenging designs • Perform detailed reviews of customer specifications, providing comments, clarifications, and alternatives to customer requirements. • Work closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Business Development to win business. • Manage change orders and work with the engineering department on large-scale projects • Track sales vs. quotes for strategic partners/sales team

Other Skills and Abilities: • Ability to analyze information quickly and accurately • Industrial automation and controls engineering experience • Ability to explain how and why specific conclusions were reached • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills • Ability to manage multiple projects from conception to completion • Strong follow-through skills • Proven organizational skills and the ability to multitask • Strong technical writing skills • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project • Experience and working knowledge of Solidworks and DraftSight (or AutoCAD) • Experience with GD&T and an understanding of manufacturing tolerances • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings • Willing to travel to Invio facilities and customer sites as required (5% or less) • Medical device industry experience preferred

EDUCATION

Prefer a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering with at least 10-15 years of experience.
