Responsibilities: Responsible for orienting Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing staff to policies and procedures before being released from New Employee Orientation. Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department. Design, plan, and provide educational programs on all shifts and for all departments. Conduct site visits to facilitate in-services, audits, and competency reviews. Create and maintain an annual in-service calendar. Develop a monthly in-service calendar meeting health and safety regulations along with community needs. Prepare in-services, conduct post-tests, and complete skills check-offs to ensure goals and objectives are met. Offer training modalities that meet the needs of adult learning styles. Develop skills and encourage growth by assessing competencies annually and as needed. Modify competencies based on resident needs, regulatory changes, and community needs. Intervene when competencies do not meet policy, procedures, and health and safety regulations by offering on-the-spot in-services and corrective actions as needed to attain positive outcomes for residents and staff. Prepare reports and audits as assigned for QAPI. May be required to work as a unit nurse as staffing dictates. Responsible for facilitating CPR and Med Tech training for community employees as required. Plan and provide a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs. Identify and assess facility education needs through various methods including exit interviews, data, and evaluation of both financial and personal performance. Confer with management regarding content and create programs that address, complement, and achieve those needs. Maintain, coordinate, and oversee preceptor programs for new employees. Ability to routinely travel locally and work a non-traditional schedule/outside regular business hours as needed. Ensure all state-mandated training programs and hours are adhered to. Conduct or arrange for ongoing training and personal development classes for staff members. Coordinate and monitor training activities, verify progress and outcomes. Maintain staff training and in-service records. Education/Experience: Must be an LPN in the state of Michigan. Minimum of 2 years of Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Skilled Nursing experience preferred. Med Tech training course completion through MCAL required within 90 days of hire.
