Embedded Software Engineer - Combat Systems Integration
Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance. Responsibilities: Lead development of embedded software for a single Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) across the full software development lifecycle. Design and migrate to a modern software development environment to support the generation of documentation, code, and testing artifacts. Create and maintain software requirements, design, and architecture documentation. Develop and test software across vehicle subsystems, including board support, displays, power management, lethality, diagnostics, training, and software deployment. Perform software requirements analysis and design using standard design tools. Implement software in compliance with departmental coding standards. Create and execute unit and functional test procedures. Perform hardware/software integration and resolve issues during multiple testing phases. Package software releases that integrate changes from multiple developers into complete CSCI-level products. Interface with cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Software Quality, and Project Management. Lead Agile Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups and demonstrations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline required. Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance (Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible). 5-7+ years of experience in embedded software development or a related field. Proficiency with programming and version control tools such as GIT, Bitbucket, Java, C#, C++, C, and Python. Experience working in mixed OS environments including VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, GVOS, Virtualization, and BSPs. Familiarity with serial/network protocols such as RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, and UDP/IP. Experience with middleware and data exchange technologies such as DDS, Kafka, and other Pub/Sub systems. Working knowledge of TSN (Time Sensitive Networking), NGVA, and UKGVA data models. Experience with defense-related software frameworks including GCIA, MOSA, SOSA, and FACE. Hands-on experience using Agile development tools and methodologies. Desired Qualifications: Prior experience in the defense industry. Familiarity with Type 1/2 hypervisors and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Understanding of IoT architecture and concepts. Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler. Background in multicast networking and data transmission protocols. Must be able to work occasional evening or weekend overtime as required. Must meet physical requirements to work in, on, and around military vehicles. Your Recruiter Still have questions?
