Prefer 6 months of experience working with pediatric patient populations. License: Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Certifications: Must have current basic CPR certification. Must have the RPSGT credential or an equivalent credential. Must-Have: Must be a graduate of a Respiratory Care Program. Must have completed an A-STEP program or be a graduate of a CAAHEP program. If the candidate does not have the RPSGT, RST, or SDS credential, must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Must pass the RPSGT, RST, or SDS within one year of being eligible to sit for the exam. Description: Performs polysomnography and scores records. Conducts routine maintenance and calibration of testing equipment. Handles related clerical work and documentation required to maintain clinical and operational aspects of the Sleep Disorders Center. Evaluates patients for sleep-related breathing disorders and other sleep abnormalities, including seizure disorders and narcolepsy. Ensures compliance with all relevant guidelines and protocols. Demonstrates competence in operating polysomnography equipment. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Maintains a safe and supportive environment for patients during sleep studies. Prepares and provides education to patients and families regarding sleep disorders and treatment options.
