We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to join the team in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is critical to managing, maintaining, and securing IT systems and infrastructure that underpin mission-critical operations for Department of Defense (DoD) requirements. As an IT Systems Administrator, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, performance, and cybersecurity of IT systems while supporting multi-domain operations and open systems architectures. Golden Dome is a national-level, whole-of-nation initiative in which you will play a critical role in advancing next-generation homeland defense capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, hardware, virtual environments, and network devices to meet program needs. Manage servers, workstations, storage, and peripheral systems as part of a high-performance IT infrastructure. Monitor system performance and uptime using diagnostic tools, resolving issues promptly to minimize operational disruptions. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Implement and enforce security measures, including access controls, endpoint protections, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Perform security compliance tasks such as patch management, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities in accordance with DoD standards (e.g., RMF, DISA STIGs). Maintain virtualized environments using hypervisor technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to support program requirements. Support systems integration efforts, ensuring interoperability across hardware and software architectures. Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to minimize data loss and downtime. Test disaster recovery scenarios and support risk mitigation strategies. Maintain network connectivity, including configuration and troubleshooting of switches, routers, and firewalls. Support secure communication architectures to ensure the availability of critical data services. Generate and maintain technical documentation, such as system diagrams, SOPs, and user guides, ensuring accuracy and compliance with DoD policies. Ensure systems adhere to DoD authorization standards and cybersecurity frameworks. Coordinate with program stakeholders, engineers, and other IT professionals to align system capabilities with mission objectives. Provide technical expertise and recommendations for system improvements and upgrades. Required Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with 15 years' related experience; Master's degree preferred. Required Security Clearance: Must have an Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility 5 years' prior experience for access to Special Access Program Information (SAP), or Controlled Access Program (CAP); must have 1 year in the last 5 years. Required Skills: 15+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting mission-critical IT environments, preferably within DoD or aerospace programs. Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux-based operating systems. Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, routing) and network security practices. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM. Working knowledge of compliance frameworks such as RMF, DISA STIGs, and NIST 800-53.
