Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Lab Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 4x12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: RN License required Certifications: CPR BLS, ACLS, NIHSS EKG required
Must-Have: - Associate's degree in nursing required - Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred - 2 years experience required, 5 years preferred - Travel experience required
Description: Assess and reassess young adult, adult, and elderly patients using the nursing process. Demonstrate basic competency in specialized procedures and equipment. Provide care for and/or recovery of patients pre/post interventional cardiac procedures. Care for patients with vascular closure devices: application, maintenance, and removal. Maintain and pull arterial and/or venous sheaths. Operate ACT machine. Utilize Angioseal and Vasoseal devices. Administer minimal sedation while adhering to safety and prevention guidelines. Assist with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) following safety guidelines. Perform bubble method as needed when assisting with TEE. Manage pain and conduct follow-up pain reassessment. Perform blood draws and utilize appropriate order-of-the-draw for labs. Administer IV therapy and blood products. Manage information effectively. Administer synchronized cardioversion. Monitor and manage ICDs and pacemakers (temporary and permanent). Provide pre/post care and recovery.
In procedural area responsibilities: Assess and reassess young adult, adult, and elderly patients using the nursing process. Demonstrate basic competency in specialized procedures and equipment. Provide care for and/or recovery of patients pre/post electrophysiology procedures. Assist with interventional radiology procedures. Care for patients with vascular closure devices: application, maintenance, removal, and post-care. Assist with vascular procedures, including IVC filters, run-offs, acute and chronic occlusions. Maintain and pull arterial and/or venous sheaths. Operate ACT machine. Assist with peripheral balloons and stents. Assist with thermodilution and invasive monitoring. Assist with IVUS procedures. Assist with FFR procedures. Assist with electrophysiology procedures. Assist with RF and cryoablation procedures. Assist with insertion of intra-aortic balloon pump, including maintenance and troubleshooting. Assist with loop recorder insertion. Assist with ICDs and pacemakers (temporary and permanent). Utilize synchronized cardioversion and defibrillation. Manage pain and conduct follow-up pain reassessment. Monitor for and manage anaphylactic reactions, utilizing the anaphylactic kit. Monitor MAC lab system.
