Castleton Commodities International (www.cci.com) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Operations Lead to join our Finance Data & Analytics team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the governance, integrity, and operational efficiency of enterprise data across our systems. You will be instrumental in managing master and reference data, ensuring alignment with business, regulatory, and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and a proven track record of leadership in data operations and governance.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the setup, maintenance, and ongoing governance of reference and master data across CCIs Merchant Operations & Finance systems and domains.
Establish and enforce data standards, controls, and quality rules in collaboration with key data domains and stakeholders.
Lead cross-functional discussions with data stewards to drive alignment on data definitions and data quality standards.
Collaborate closely with the Data Engineering team to implement data quality workflows and golden record management processes.
Act as a key liaison between business teams and platform/engineering teams, ensuring enterprise data supports reporting, regulatory, and strategic business needs.
Drive change management initiatives, championing the adoption of Master Data Management (MDM) best practices across the organization.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data governance and data operations professionals.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
10+ years of experience working in data governance, data operations, or enterprise data management, ideally within the finance, commodities, or energy trading sectors.
Proven experience working with SAP, ETRM systems, and data quality/MDM platforms
Deep understanding of financial hierarchies, general ledger (GL) structures, and legal entity mappings.
Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, or other scripting/data processing languages preferred.
Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams and data governance initiatives.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
