Metal Fabricator/Welder
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Fabricator/Welder to work on site in the Lewiston/Auburn area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, cutting and shaping metal materials, and welding components to fabricate or repair metal structures and products. The position requires a high level of precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work with a variety of metalworking tools and machinery. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal materials using hand and power tools. Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.). Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Inspect completed work for accuracy, structural soundness, and quality standards. Perform grinding, finishing, and polishing of metal parts. Able to use a brake press Maintain equipment in good working condition and adhere to maintenance schedules. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear at all times. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely project completion. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in welding or metal fabrication preferred. Minimum [X] years of experience in metal fabrication and welding. Proficient in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Capable of lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods. Knowledge of shop math and measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.). Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and welding codes. Work Environment: Primarily in a shop or manufacturing facility. May require exposure to loud noise, heat, sparks, and metal fumes. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
