Huntington Ingalls Industries Mission Technologies Warfare Systems Position

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the Department of Defense (DOD) and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DOD and its allies. Essential Job Responsibilities: Designs and manages the overall structure of complex systems, ensuring integration and compatibility of components to meet intended objectives. Analyzes requirements, creating architectural blueprints, selecting appropriate technologies, and overseeing the integration of hardware and software components. Guides the development process, making high-level design decisions to ensure the system's long-term success, adaptability, and scalability. Identifies system data, hardware, and/or software components required to meet user needs within the SoS. Collaborates with engineers and software developers to provide design solutions and ensure the compatibility of system components. Resolves discrepancies between proposed IT systems, enterprise quality standards, and security regulations. Completes models and simulations using manual or automated tools to analyze and predict system performance under various operating conditions, ensuring systems meet operational and strategic objectives. Certified to develop systems without reliance on specialized SysML support, leveraging alternative methodologies and tools where appropriate. Familiar with Government Reference Architectures and unified data standards to produce designs and configurations. Minimum Qualifications: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. Must possess an active Secret clearance. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively. Capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proven track record of contributing to successful team outcomes. Preferred Requirements: Knowledge of DOD acquisition and contracting processes. Working familiarity with federal compliance standards (e.g., DFARS, ITAR). PMP, CISSP, or other relevant certifications preferred.
