We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft legal documents such as affidavits, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. Our main office is in San Diego, so this would be a remote position. Responsibilities: • Preparing probate petitions and related documents • Filing court documents • Assisting attorneys with all aspects of the case • Ensuring court deadlines are calendared • Implementing systems and procedures to ensure that cases progress smoothly • Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized, so all documents are readily accessible • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings • Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems • Coordinate law office activity, including drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers Qualifications: • At least 5 years of paralegal experience in civil litigation. Some familiarity with probate litigation cases preferred • Candidates should possess high-level organizational and time-management skills • Must have strong interpersonal skills and a talent for writing and grammar • ABA-approved paralegal certificate program, such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired Compensation: $100,000 yearly
