We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Real Estate Finance Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about real estate law and commercial real estate finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate transactions, with a particular focus on lender-side representation. You will be working with a diverse range of banking clients, including institutional lenders, and will be actively involved in various aspects of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), construction lending, and real estate capital markets. This role requires a keen understanding of loan documentation, workout and restructuring, deal structuring, and commercial real estate lending.
Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel and guidance to our banking clients on all aspects of commercial real estate finance, including loan documentation, deal structuring, and workout and restructuring. Represent lenders in complex commercial real estate transactions, including construction lending and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). Develop and maintain strong, proactive client relationships, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Stay abreast of changes in real estate law and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate, up-to-date advice to clients. Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals to provide comprehensive legal services. Participate in the development of strategies for structuring transactions and managing risks. Draft and review various legal documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and other related documents.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing. Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on commercial real estate finance. Proven experience in representing lenders in commercial real estate transactions. In-depth knowledge of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), construction lending, and real estate capital markets. Proficient in drafting and reviewing loan documentation. Strong understanding of workout and restructuring strategies. Demonstrated ability to structure deals and manage risks. Excellent client relationship management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
