EVA Center , a program of Casa Myrna, is a survivor led exit program that offers respectful, long term, holistic, comprehensive exit services for individuals wanting out of prostitution/sexual exploitation. Founded in 2006, our mission is to work for systemic change and end the sex trade. We provide space, support, and resources for those most impacted by the sex trade to find safety and stability in their lives, changing the narrative about prostitution through legislation, education and awareness.

Program Manager
for a unique 9 room emergency safe home program for women exiting out of sexual exploitation, prostitution/trafficking and their children. Our house, which opened in May 2017, is one of only a few emergency safe home programs in the country specific to this population. The goal of the program is to support participants as they permanently exit out of the sex trade. The Manager supervises staff, collaborates with all other Casa Myrna programs and departments, and reports to the EVA Center Director. We are looking for a highly motivated organizational leader to work collectively with staff, many whom are survivors themselves. We are looking for someone that is able to share some common experiences, and has had exposure to social justice frameworks. This position requires a highly driven person who can come to work with energy, compassion, and a be a real presence for women/young adults who often have long histories of victimization and exploitation. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage operations for the house, including supervising staff Ensure the successful operation of the program by planning and ensuring the delivery of trauma-informed quality supports to participants in a safe environment that reflects Casa Myrna’s values and philosophy of service. Communicate this vision and day-to-day operations to residential team and participants. Build a healthy positive culture that successfully achieves meaningful results for participants. Recruit, orient, and supervise full-time, part-time, and relief (per diem) staff. Facilitates on-going staff training and conducts staff performance assessment and evaluation. Build a strong team of advocates by creating individual development plans for each advocate that includes on-the-job training, one-on-one supervision, outside training, and participation in residential and organizational meetings and projects. Coordinate staff schedule. Match staff with participants for individual support based on strengths, interests, and cultural and language skill sets. Provide coverage that might include evenings, weekend, and nights in rotation with other safe home staff. Ensure and provide empowering, supportive, and safe services to participants
Review exit plans for each participant to ensure they meet their needs and empower them to reach their goals. Provide transformational relationships with and effective advocacy for participants. Fairly and consistently implement safe home policies and practices. Oversee and respond effectively to crisis intervention/de-escalation and conflict mediation for residents. Address participant concerns and manage grievance process and shelter emergencies as they arise. Provide on-call coverage during off hours. Actively develop, strengthen, keep up-to-date on, and communicate about community resources, particularly those related to housing, public benefits, health, wellness, education, and employment opportunities. Actively develop working relationships with internal and external collaborators to better support participants. Review, evaluate, and update organizational and shelter policies to ensure the house runs smoothly, the facilities are maintained in safe and secure condition, and the program meets state/funders requirements. Work with staff to organize and manage inventory supplies, program materials, and work orders. Administrative responsibilities
Support the Director in developing annual program plan and budget (e.g., participant activities, staff and volunteer recognition/appreciation, program supplies, and office supplies). Monitor program budget and work with Development team on fundraising when applicable. Compile data for reports and records specific to the shelter and its participants. Ensure all information is accurate, complete, and meets organization’s deadlines. Attend community meetings and serve as a spokesperson on issues of commercial sexual exploitation. Develop own professional development plan and attend trainings, meetings, and conferences within Casa Myrna and in the community. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor and agency. QUALIFICATIONS
Deeply committed to the mission and vision of the EVA Center, understanding the various systems and the current landscape of services, and system change work locally and nationally. Committed to Casa Myrna’s values and mission of ending domestic and dating violence and commercial exploitation, and promoting social justice and social change. Minimum 3 years' experience in program development/management as well as working with marginalized and complex populations using a trauma informed approach. Minimum of 2 years' experience supervising staff and teams. Experience managing a residential program, including scheduling staff, managing an on-call system, and coordinating with facilities staff preferred. A deep and personal knowledge of prostitution, the issues facing marginalized young women exiting out of the sex trade, trauma, trauma theory, and exiting out of prostitution. Personal history as a survivor of commercial sexual exploitation is highly preferred. A high level of integrity and comfort with unpredictability and unknowns. Ability to manage conflict resolution effectively and to adequately respond to extremely complex situations. Demonstrated ability to utilize appropriate, non-judgmental communication techniques when responding to survivors that illustrates sensitivity to their experiences and needs. Ability to work and advocate in a collaborative style with diverse ethnic, cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic groups, as well as diversity based on ability/disability, sexual orientation and religion. High level organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy are absolutely essential. Strong leadership skills, ability to work with a diverse staff and program participants. Promote an atmosphere of respect and cooperation; maintain confidentiality regarding program participants. Ability to support survivors in crisis with empathy while maintaining boundaries. Excellent verbal and written and communication skills. Innovative, thoughtful, and action oriented. Embody and model the values of the Center, sisterhood/self-determination, and social justice. Ability to travel throughout Boston required; access to reliable transportation. This position will require travel to sites within the Boston area. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and/or weekends as needed. Fluency in a language other than English strongly preferred. Preference for Spanish, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, or Haitian Creole. Hours : Full-time (4 days and 35 hours/week)
