Job Title: Chief Financial Officer Department: Finance Department Responsible To: CEO Responsible For: VP of Finance, Manager of Operations, IT Administrator and Outsourced IT Services Requirements: Master's degree, preferably in management or business administration with coursework in finance, accounting and computer science desirable; and/or four (4) years progressively responsible experience in accounting, and/or in computer science/technology. Seven or more years of managerial experience in an accounting environment, including non-profit organization. Financial management experience, knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), strong analytical skills and someone who is very detail oriented. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to provide leadership and work effectively as a member of the senior management team, the ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle multiple priorities, intermediate knowledge of computer systems, including all windows platforms, hardware and software while keeping current with changing technology. Possession of a valid Driver’s license and a willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment. Position OverviewAs a key member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer sets policies, provides strategic direction, and ensures sound fiscal management. The CFO oversees all financial operations, risk management, IT systems, and key administrative functions to support the organization’s mission and growth. Key Responsibilities Lead the Finance Department, including the VP of Finance, Manager of Operations, IT Administrator, and outsourced IT services. Oversee all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP. Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and key performance metrics for the CEO, Board, and Finance Committee. Direct annual audits, tax filings, and ensure strong internal controls. Manage operational and program budgets, capital planning, and cash flow. Evaluate and manage insurance coverage, risk management programs, and major contracts. Supervise IT operations, ensuring technology supports organizational efficiency and security. Participate in strategic planning, assessing financial feasibility of new opportunities. Maintain relationships with auditors, banks, insurers, and vendors to ensure competitive, high-quality services. Qualifications MBA or CPA preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field; advanced coursework in finance/accounting and computer science preferred. Minimum 7 years of managerial experience in accounting or finance, including nonprofit experience. Experience in a Provider setting preferred. Proven expertise in GAAP, financial analysis, budgeting, strategic planning, and audits. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and take initiative. Proficiency in SharePoint, One Drive, Teams. Knowledge of Sage accounting software is preferred. General knowledge of evolving technology trends. Valid driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle for work-related travel.
