Job Summary Vertiv is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the

Sr. Director, Consulting Services

for the Global Services Business Unit. This pivotal role will spearhead the creation and growth of a new consulting segment within Vertiv, focused on advising clients on the efficient design, operation, and optimization of new or existing data centers. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you will build this organization from the ground up, developing service offerings, assembling a high-performing team, and driving revenue through strategic client engagements. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a startup mentality, bringing fresh perspectives to a traditional data center business through expertise in problem-solving methodologies, efficiency strategies, and experience in dynamic industries. This position will be based onsite in Westerville / Columbus, OH. Responsibilities: Build and Lead the Consulting Organization: Establish the foundational structure for the new consulting segment, including defining service lines (e.g., design audits, efficiency assessments, optimization roadmaps, and sustainability strategies). Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of consultants, engineers, and subject matter experts to deliver high-impact solutions. Develop Service Offerings: Create comprehensive consulting packages tailored to client needs, applying problem identification and solving frameworks to address inefficiencies in data center operations, such as process streamlining and resource optimization. Client Engagement and Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities with enterprise clients, colocation providers, and hyperscalers. Conduct needs assessments using structured methodologies like Six Sigma DMAIC and Lean principles, propose customized solutions, and foster long-term partnerships to drive consulting revenue growth. Thought Leadership and Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and apply a big-picture perspective to identify strategies that enhance efficiencies, scalability, and sustainability. Publish insights, represent Vertiv at conferences, and collaborate with R&D teams to integrate innovative approaches into consulting services. Operational Excellence: Define KPIs for the consulting practice, including client satisfaction, project margins, and utilization rates. Leverage Lean and Six Sigma tools to promote best practices in process improvement and cost reduction while aligning with Vertiv’s core strengths. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Vertiv’s sales, product development, and service teams to bundle consulting with hardware/software solutions, creating holistic value propositions for clients. Risk Management and Compliance: Advise on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies, using problem-solving expertise to enhance client resilience and operational efficiencies. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. 10+ years in leadership roles focused on problem identification, solving, and process improvement, with at least 5 years building and scaling a consulting practice or business unit. Proven track record in applying Six Sigma DMAIC and Lean principles to drive efficiencies in complex environments. Familiarity with efficiency optimization tools and methodologies Skills: Expertise in seeing the big picture, identifying strategic opportunities for efficiency gains, and implementing structured problem-solving approaches.

25%travel domestically and internationally as required, with participation in global meetings outside normal working hours.
