Job Summary

The paint team preps products for paint using power and air tools daily. Must be able to read, interpret, and understand detailed design prints. Able to work in a steel fabrication shop environment daily. Must be a team player, able to easily interact with others, and have a solid work ethic.

Qualifications

Load and unload parts or products onto fixtures.

Prepare parts for coating by spraying off debris.

Operate all coating equipment including paint guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems.

Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects.

Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality with visual inspections or using proper equipment.

Bake painted parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations.

Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, washes, and pretreatments.

Ensure all painted components meet established goals for quality and the customer’s order.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with the company’s procedures and regulations.

Required Skills and Experience

Able to pass a PFT & FIT Test, this job requires wearing a respirator at times.

Individuals must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Must have an ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently but also performs well within teams or work groups

Additional Skills and Experience

One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
