POSITION PROFILE The Principal Consultant, Inkjet – Commercial Print Market is a high-impact, sales-focused role responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales of Ricoh’s full inkjet portfolio—including roll-fed and sheet-fed systems—as well as associated finishing, software, and professional services. This individual will be a trusted advisor and subject matter expert (SME) to clients in the Graphic Communications (GC) space, influencing business transformation and production workflow modernization. The position demands deep knowledge of commercial print environments, sales acumen, and the ability to articulate and deliver a compelling business case to executive-level decision-makers. This is a client-facing role aligned to revenue targets and requires collaboration with sales, marketing, engineering, and delivery teams across North America and Ricoh Global. They are the Inkjet Specialist who supports the Graphic Communication Production Print Executives (PPEs). JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as a strategic selling resource for Ricoh’s inkjet portfolio, including pre-sales discovery, solution design, and proposal development
Lead complex sales engagements by mapping customer business processes and developing tailored transformation plans supported by ROI/TCO models
Partner with direct and indirect sales teams to identify, qualify, and close opportunities, with a focus on net new acquisition and strategic account expansion
Present Ricoh's value proposition and solutions to C-level executives within commercial print organizations
Collaborate with Ricoh’s CEC, engineering, and marketing teams to coordinate print samples, demos, and technical proofs
Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to influence product development and solution enhancements
Develop sales tools, playbooks, and best practices to enable scale and consistency across sales efforts
Support post-sale transition and engagement handoff to ensure successful implementation and adoption
Represent Ricoh at industry events and trade shows, including speaking engagements and panel participation
Achieve assigned revenue and margin targets on a quarterly and annual basis
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications) Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., G7, CMP, Six Sigma) a plus
Minimum of 10 years in commercial print or production workflow sales, including experience with inkjet technology
Proven experience leading consultative selling engagements with large, complex commercial print organizations
Strong understanding of production inkjet technology, finishing solutions, document composition, color management, and print automation
Prior experience with P&L responsibility or selling into accounts with multi-million-dollar CapEx purchases preferred
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 50-80% across the U.S.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Executive presence and ability to engage and influence senior-level buyers
Deep knowledge of end-to-end print production workflow in commercial environments
Ability to model financial value (ROI, TCO, investment payback) to support business cases
Familiarity with document composition tools, ADF, MIS, Web-to-Print, and finishing technologies
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and Visio or equivalent process modeling tools
Highly organized, entrepreneurial, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in large organizations
PERFORMANCE METRICS Quarterly revenue and margin attainment
Expansion of GC client base and inkjet wallet share
Customer satisfaction and retention
