link. Job Title Director of HRM and iMPAC Business Development - Harrison County Campus Job Description GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION :

Incumbent is responsible for the promotion, management, and business operations of the Hospitality Resort Management Center ( HRM ) and Immersive Media Performing Arts Center (iMPAC). Incumbent reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Teaching and Learning. Job Duties 1. Develop and maintain cohesive strategic plans in alignment with Excelerate 2030 for HRM and iMPAC that promote and support high quality instruction and innovative learning opportunities, develop community partnerships, attract relevant events and audiences, and generate revenue.

2. Oversee the scheduling of HRM and iMPAC in spaces allotted to revenue generation and provide oversight and management of Café catering operations for City Line Café.

3. Recruit, plan, market, and execute special events at the HRM and iMPAC facilities.

4. Market and promote the HRM and iMPAC facilities to external audiences. Actively participate in civic organizations to represent the facilities and MGCCC within the community. Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations, schools, governmental agencies, professional associations, and businesses to attract events and audiences to the facilities.

5. Serve as House Manager for iMPAC and HRM to coordinate and oversee “Front of House” and “Back of House” activities.

6. Supervise support staff and conduct periodic evaluations. Develop and implement customer service training for all HRM and iMPAC staff and volunteers. Develop continuing education and employee development plans for employees based on specific needs. Make staffing recommendations and identify and implement temporary staffing solutions based on facility activity levels.

7. Coordinate Work4College students, student workers, and internships for catering and City Line operations, iMPAC events, and HRM events. Assist with locating internships for students in programs within event centers through industry partnerships.

8. Participate in local, regional, and national performing arts association programs to ensure iMPAC’s operations and programming remain profitable and cutting-edge. Maintain a high level of knowledge of trends and practices in the performance arts industry.

9. Draft and manage an annual operating budget for iMPAC, HRM , and City Line Café to ensure that revenues and expenditures remain at expected levels; communicate with the College leadership about event center data and performance on a regular basis. Responsible for profit generation to assure revenue over expenses for City Line Catering, HRM , and iMPAC facilities as outlined in the strategic plans.

10. Coordinate development and fundraising efforts for HRM and iMPAC from identified funding sources. Develop grant proposals to support internal events, art shows, community arts education programs, etc. Build relationships with community foundations, corporate sponsors, and individual donors to sell memberships and sponsorships for HRM and iMPAC and educational programs within the centers.

11. Working with Institutional Relations, develop a marketing plan for HRM and iMPAC including a web presence, active social media presence, and other appropriate forms of promotion. Assist with building and maintaining HRM , and iMPAC websites and social media channels with updated venue information, digital programs, and technology associated with using the website or application (app).

12. Serve as liaison to local K-12 Schools to encourage tours of programs within event centers, hosting of K-12 events, etc.

13. Monitor and record all facility usage, revenue, and expenses of iMPAC, HRM , and City Line Café. Provide statistics and identify opportunities for growth. Provide success stories and metrics when required.

14. Assist with product and service discovery and negotiation of contracts for concessions and other vendors for HRM and iMPAC.

15. Plan catering menus in consultation with MGCCC catering staff.

16. Coordinate with the Harrison County Campus on events hosted at iMPAC or HRM .

17. Assist with the research, application, and management of relevant grants or special projects in conjunction with District Office staff.

18. Establish and maintain relationships with business/industry and economic development organizations in the college district. Maintain an Advisory Board for MGCCC Event Centers.

19. Provide financial reports, request for reimbursement, and documentation as needed.

20. Abide by all confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.

21. Ensure excellence and high professional standards in all work performed.

22. Attend relevant meetings and participate in college activities.

23. Serve on college committees and councils as assigned.

24. Adhere to all MGCCC policies and procedures.

25. Work flexible hours as needed.

26. Complete job tasks and assignments in a timely manner.

27. Assume other duties as assigned. Mandatory Qualifications (M1)

Masters degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, or appropriate field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning and three years of experience in marketing programs, business, or related fields;

OR

Baccalaureate degree in an appropriate field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning and five years of experience in marketing programs, business, or related fields. (M2)

Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in promotion, event planning, organization management, facility oversight and personnel supervision. (M3)

Evidence of successful project management with attention to business development. (M4)

Demonstrated competency with internet, email, Microsoft Office functions, and event management software. (M5)

Experience with budgeting and revenue reporting. (M6)

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Desirable Qualifications (D1)

Demonstrated ability to plan strategically and implement programs and initiatives. (D2)

Experience with and knowledge of restaurant and catering operations, facility management and performing arts industry. (D3)

Holds national certification/accreditation in Marketing or Public Relations (i.e. American Marketing Association or Universal Accreditation Board). (D4)

Familiarity with the multi-campus environment and understanding of and a commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.
