Incredible Adventures Incredible Adventures has been offering travelers a safe and reliable way to connect with nature since 1993. Today, we offer both small group tours and DMC services throughout North America. Our small groups provide a relaxed, fun-filled atmosphere while minimizing the environmental impact of our business. We believe strongly in maintaining the wildlands and National Parks of California (and all over the world), and know that tourism can be a strong factor in whether these magnificent areas continue to thrive for future generations to enjoy. As industry leaders being the ‘Greenest Tour Company in San Francisco,’ we promote sustainability of the destinations we visit through the use of eco-friendly renewable fuels. We are also a locally owned business, operated by a small group of passionate travel professionals, who believe that there is still a place in the travel industry for small businesses motivated by their passion for nature and experiences. Who You Are You are passionate about the environment, sustainable travel, and small businesses. You are willing to wear many different hats. You enjoy a challenge and are an excellent problem-solver. As Fleet and Safety Manager, you are responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, and organization of our fleet of 10-15 mini-buses, Ford Transit vans, and Mercedes Sprinters as well as ensuring that our drivers and vehicles comply with all Federal DOT and California PUC regulations. You will also be tasked with enforcing our safety policies and making sure that our drivers are industry-leaders in safety and compliance. This is afull time role, averaging forty hours per week. DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS: You are a team player, and enjoy working closely with a dynamic team You are strategic, and can plan ahead, to ensure the smooth operations of Incredible Adventures and managing our fleet and equipment You are an excellent communicator, responsive, and adept at working with people from all walks of life. TRAINING AND MANAGEMENT: You enjoy a fast-paced work environment, and the challenge of wearing many different hats. You don’t mind stepping away from the computer, and moving or fixing equipment. You can lead our safe training programs for CDL testing, ELD usage, as well as retraining drivers in best safety practices. You can see the big picture and plan ahead for purchasing, leasing, and selling vehicles and equipment, while monitoring and reducing general maintenance costs. You can monitor vehicle maintenance needs and coordinate repairs and service with vendors in San Francisco and in the field You are organized and can create systems to ensure driver files are complete and HOS audits are done properly and in a timely manner. You are passionate about the environment and want to help minimize the impact of carbon on the environment with the use of renewable fuels. What We Require ● You crave organization and have basic computer competencies, like proficiency with Excel, Google drive, Airtable and email communications. ● Be based in San Francisco (or Bay Area) and able to commute to our office in the Dogpatch. This is not a remote position. ● Ambition, drive, and creative problem-solving skills ● Flexibility and the ability to work some early morning, evening, or weekend shifts as needed ● Ability to work well as part of a small team ● Resourceful and innovative ● Passion for nature and sustainable travel! ● We have a strong preference for candidates who have a CDL, or are willing and able to obtain a Class C CDL, with passenger endorsement. We provide training for this, and reimburse these expenses. ● Experience in fleet management, ELDs, DOT/PUC compliance ● Note that vehicle maintenance experience and basic mechanic skills are helpful. What We Offer ● Competitive compensation and paid sick time ($70k-$73k depending on experience) ● Comprehensive training, and the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of travel operations ● Opportunities for growth at IA and in the travel industry generally. ● A supportive work environment, where you have the freedom to be creative and grow your skills Seniority level
