Position Overview The
Contract Specialist III
will support acquisition activities for Air Force Special Access Programs, following applicable policies, laws, regulations, and guidance. Responsibilities include supporting and leading contract staff in contract administration from requirement description to delivery, and overseeing contract performance to ensure all deliverables meet schedule and quality standards.
Work You’ll Do
Collaborate with the Contracting Officer to plan and manage acquisitions for various products and services.
Lead end-to-end contract activities, including market research, solicitation preparation, proposal review, cost/price evaluation, negotiations, invoice review, and processing.
Participate in program reviews to assess activity alignment with acquisition strategy and program plans.
Define acquisition objectives to meet milestones.
Develop acquisition strategies, including contract method/type, and perform contract administration tasks.
Oversee contract performance and identify and mitigate risks.
Communicate project status and develop acquisition and policy recommendations.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree (MA/MS/ME).
10+ years of relevant DoD/IC or industry experience, including at least 2 years in an SAP and/or SCI environment, with at least 1 year within the last 5 years.
Proficiency in ConWrite preferred.
Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to complete a CI Polygraph.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience holding a warrant.
Experience with Source Selection and large purchases.
Extensive contracting knowledge for major systems, R&D, and complex programs, following FAR and applicable supplements.
Demonstrated experience in source selections, cost/price analysis, negotiations, and contract documentation.
Ability to work independently on high-visibility or mission-critical projects.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Ability to complete a CI Polygraph.
