Hanson is seeking a highly experienced and strategically minded Special Consultant to support our initiatives in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) infrastructure planning, real estate strategy, and public-private partnerships. This temporary, part-time role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in real estate development, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory navigation within the AAM or transportation infrastructure sectors.
Day in the Life of an Advanced Air Mobility Consultant at Hanson Here's a snapshot of what you would do in this role: Advise on real estate acquisition strategies and lease negotiations for AAM infrastructure, including vertiports and off-airport facilities. Provide guidance on stakeholder engagement with local governments, regulatory bodies, and private sector partners. Support the development of operational procedures and enabling technologies for AAM deployment. Contribute to the creation of planning documents, including land-use guidebooks and infrastructure development frameworks. Leverage existing relationships with AAM OEMs, airport operators, and commercial real estate developers to identify partnership opportunities. Assist in structuring public-private partnerships (P3s) to support infrastructure funding and workforce development. Represent Hanson in industry panels, conferences, and stakeholder meetings to promote business development and thought leadership. What We're Looking For We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role: Skills: Proven experience in real estate negotiations, infrastructure planning, or AAM-related projects. Strong network within the AAM ecosystem, including OEMs, developers, and public agencies. Demonstrated success in securing MOUs, leases, or partnerships valued at $30M+. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in international business or entrepreneurial studies. Experience working with state-level transportation departments or economic development agencies. Preferred: Master's degree in real estate development, business administration (MBA), or related field. The hourly rate for this position is $70 - $150 per hour and is commensurate with experience.
