Our client, a Midwest-based national law firm, is seeking a consumer finance lawyer with 10+ years of compliance/regulatory experience to join its Chicago office as a Senior Counsel. The person in this role will work primarily with the firm’s national Consumer Financial Services and Financial Services & Capital Markets Strategic Business Practices, which counsel a range of clients across the country. Highlights: · Best Law Firm of the Year Finalist for 2024 · Robust training programs for business and practice development · Recognized by Financial Times as one of the top 25 innovative law firms · Could be based in any existing office or the virtual office Responsibilities: · Counsel consumer lenders and financial institutions, developing compliance policies, procedures, and disclosures · Advise clients on related statutes and regulations as they apply to their business, including the TILA, TRID, FCRA, FDCPA, and ECOA Required Qualifications : · 10 or more years of experience working with consumer lenders and financial institutions on developing compliance policies, procedures, and disclosures · Experience advising clients on statutes and regulations as they apply to their business · Knowledge of state consumer protection laws as well as TILA, TRID, FCRA, FDCPA, ECOA · Recent law firm experience is preferred · Excellent academic credentials Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid/Remote) Compensation: The anticipated base compensation for this position is $175,000 – $275,000.
