About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President, R&D to lead and manage all research and development activities in the creation of innovative printing, coding, and marking technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the R&D strategy, leading a large, geographically distributed technical team, and ensuring the successful commercialization of new products. This role demands a dynamic leader with a strong technical background, strategic vision, and a proven track record in product development and global operations management. The VP, R&D will be accountable for setting the R&D direction, developing and delivering innovation, and managing the R&D organization to continuously improve its culture, structure, processes, and talent.

Applicants must have an advanced technical degree in engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 15 years' experience in R&D, including at least 8-10 years in senior leadership roles. The role requires a leader with a strong background in printing technologies, ink jet systems, laser marking, or industrial automation, and a proven ability to bring complex hardware and software products to market. Strategic technology vision, cross-functional leadership, and business acumen are essential, as is the ability to manage significant R&D budgets and make strategic investment decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience in packaging, consumer goods, and pharmaceutical industries, and be familiar with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
