Overview

The QA/QC Inspector plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties. The QA/QC Inspector represents the company and its subcontractors for pipe and equipment installation, welding inspection and oversight of subcontractor installation and quality. The QA/QC Inspector will participate in the General Contractors project quality program documenting installation activities. Base pay range

$58.57/hr - $70.54/hr Responsibilities

Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component. Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records. Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether the product has been vetted for future purchases from the vendor. Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies, codes and procedures. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management. Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities. Maintains a working knowledge of codes and specifications for current industry quality standards. The quality team may assign other duties. Secondary duties / Responsibilities

Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities. Prepares and presents technical information and reports to team members and management. Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities. Other duties as assigned by the Site QC Supervisor or QA/QC Director in conjunction with the project team. Qualifications

Seeking at least 5 years of experience in Quality Control with a minimum of 3 years focused on ASME B31 piping codes, industrial and commercial construction, fabrication, welding, non-destructive testing, and/or other similar fields. Current certification in accordance with AWS QC-1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and/or ICC Mechanical – Commercial Certification preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Regular & routine attendance. Seniority level
