Overview Technical Co-Founder (Float) — Location: Southern California (Hybrid / In-Person Preferred)

Company Overview Float is a venture-backed aerospace startup developing next-generation hydrogen-powered airships to revolutionize long-distance cargo transport. Our vision is to dramatically reduce the cost and carbon footprint of logistics while unlocking a new era of aerial mobility.

Role Overview We are seeking a deeply technical and visionary Co-Founder to lead engineering and product development. You will be responsible for developing core flight systems, prototyping, managing vendor integration, and building a world-class engineering team. You will play a central role in defining the future of our company.

Responsibilities

Lead design, prototyping, and validation of Float's hydrogen airship platform.

Develop and test propulsion, control, and autonomy systems.

Work hands-on with early-stage flight hardware and software.

Recruit and manage a top-tier engineering team.

Collaborate on company vision, product roadmap, and fundraising strategy.

Interface with partners, investors, and regulatory bodies (FAA, DoT, etc.).

Ideal Background

5+ years in aerospace, systems engineering, or robotics (preferably at SpaceX, Hyperloop, Boom, etc.).

Strong background in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering.

Experience with autonomous systems, avionics, or hydrogen fuel systems is a plus.

Previous startup or founder experience highly desirable.

Located in or willing to relocate to Southern California.

Compensation This is a co-founder role with significant equity ownership. Salary is flexible for the right candidate.
