Title: Deputy Chief, Operations Improvement & Analysis

Reports to: Chief of Operations Planning

Work Location: 2 Broadway, Manhattan

Hours of Work: Managerial

Responsibilities

Oversee the development, evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of all long- and short-term subway service revisions, including substitute bus operations and permanent and temporary revisions to subway schedules.

Direct the system-wide process by which track access for capital and maintenance work is coordinated, scheduled, approved, and implemented, including development of parameters for communicating associated service changes internally and externally.

Compensation Salary range ($137,514-$188,582) Exec 1096

Education and Experience Master’s degree in: Major Field of Study: Transportation Management, System Analysis, Engineering, or a closely related field, and (12) years progressively responsible transportation experience of a large transit authority or firm, including six (6) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity; or equivalent of education & experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Desired Skills

Excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills

Proficiency in technical writing and data analysis

Fluency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word and GIS

Knowledge of New York City Transit subway and/or bus system and the geography of New York City are highly desirable.

Selection Method Based On Evaluation Of Education, Skills, Experience, And Interview. Appointment may be at a comparable level to current level of selected candidate (if necessary).
