What We're Looking For The VP, Privacy Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Cross River's privacy program. This senior leadership role ensures the organization maintains compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations while supporting strategic business objectives and maintaining trusted relationships with regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive privacy programs across the organization
Provide strategic direction for privacy initiatives aligned with business goals
Lead privacy-related compliance risk assessments
Establish privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect customer and employee personal information
Monitor regulatory changes and adjust the program as needed, including but not limited to: GLBA and Regulation P FCRA and FACT Act CCPA/CPRA GDPR (where applicable) State data breach notification laws RFPA NYDFS cybersecurity regulations
Collaborate with legal, information security, and operations to implement privacy-by-design controls
Develop and manage customer disclosures for banking products and services
Oversee data breach prevention, detection, and response for banking customer information
Serve as subject matter expert on privacy laws to senior leadership
Manage relationships with banking regulatory authorities and respond to inquiries and examinations (e.g., FDIC, CFPB, NY regulators)
Build and lead a team of privacy professionals and administer training programs
Report privacy metrics and program effectiveness to executive leadership and the Board
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in law, business, or related field preferred
10+ years in banking compliance with emphasis on consumer protection and privacy regulations
Deep knowledge of privacy regulations (GLBA, RFPA, FCRA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and applicable state banking laws)
Experience with privacy principles, data governance, and information lifecycle management as it applies to banking data
Proven track record of monitoring regulatory developments and updating programs in response to evolving privacy laws
Experience developing cross-functional privacy impact assessments and data mapping processes
Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical banking solutions
Salary Range: $200,000 - $220,000
